Ewon
Firmware architect on industrial VPN routers

Ewon specializes in VPN routers that enable remote access to entire networks of devices, and gather data through many industrial protocols to re-distribute it over widely-used protocols like OPC-UA or MQTT.
Embedded developer
Working in the R&D team in Nivelles, I worked on the Cosy 131, Cosy+ and Flexy 201→205 products. I developed many features end-to-end — from the C back-end on a Linux system to the JavaScript/CSS front-end — such as the WAN fallback (multiple interfaces keeping the device always connected) and digital-input alarming.
Daily technologies: C, Rust, the Yocto Project, Bash, Docker, JavaScript/CSS, CLion, Jenkins and Redmine.
Firmware architect
Promoted to firmware architect, I became responsible for keeping the code maintainable and future-proof. I had the opportunity to:
- Pave the way for Rust as a safer, higher-level replacement for C.
- Build and manage the CI/CD system with Docker, Jenkins and Gerrit.
- Help architect a new security design based on a Secure Element, a HashiCorp Vault and an encrypted flash file system.
- Organize the merge with a Global Platform from the Swedish headquarters, restructuring our whole code base.
